PeopleCert is looking for a passionate Senior Systems Engineer for the DEVOPS team, who will be part of our Team. This position lies in our Software Development Team, which designs and develops applications that support & manage our certification exams, conducted 24x7 worldwide. Our applications are web based, built on cloud (Azure) based web services/applications using various technologies including JavaScript, Redis, oath, .Net, netcore, SQL server etc., iOS & android native app development and video streaming.

As a Senior IT Systems Engineer, your tasks will include the following:

• Drive the development for Test & Live MS Cloud environments.
• Problem-solving as for the disruption to our services.
• Perform System Management for Windows and Linux Servers
• Perform DB systems Monitoring, Performance and management (SQL servers, Application Servers, and Applications).
• Monitor system availability and performance.
• Responsible for writing scripts to automate tasks and/or to collect KPI data.
• Ensure their work and presence is aligned with company’s values “Quality - Passion - Integrity – Innovation,” always.
  
  

What we look for:

• University Degree in Informatics Technology or relevant field, Postgraduate Degree will be considered a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as software developer
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as systems administrator
• Knowledge of C#, JavaScript, Python, HTML, Visual Studio, TFS, and Jenkins
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux (Debian-Ubuntu / Red hat), MSSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, Redis, Docker related technologies like Swarm and AKS.
• Strong skills for RabbitMQ, Redis, HAProxy, Azure Cloud Services, Load Balancers and WAF.
• Excellent command of the English language (C1 level certification desired, LanguageCert C1 LTE or C1 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Well organized, self-driven, flexible, and able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
• MS Certifications in relevant fields and ITIL will be considered a plus.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

• A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

• Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)

• HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)

• Financial background check

• Employment reference check

• If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
