Quality Inspector Supervisor
Job Summary:
As the Quality Inspector Supervisor at our manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, NM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of our products. You will oversee a team of quality inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and leadership skills will be essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence in the industry. You will be tasked to support a quality system that meets the stringent requirements of Array Technologies.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of quality inspectors, providing direction, guidance, and support.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, quality consciousness, and continuous improvement within the quality inspection team.
Quality Control:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of manufactured products to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
- Work closely with production teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken.
- Generate reports summarizing quality performance metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Communicate quality-related information effectively to management, production teams, and other stakeholders.
Training and Development:
- Provide training and guidance to quality inspectors on inspection techniques and standards.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality management, and incorporate relevant updates into training programs.
- Support the professional development of team members through mentorship and opportunities for skill enhancement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in quality inspection procedures, equipment, and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and drive efficiencies.
- Actively participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in quality control/inspection within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and equipment, as well as computer software for data analysis and reporting.
- Prior experience interpreting control chart results, process capability, and specification limits.
- Prior experience reading blueprints (drawings), including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Preferred qualifications:
- Quality technician experience in a standardized environment (ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949), with a proven track record of results. Certification as an American Society for Quality CQT is preferred
- Experience knowing which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various applications and how to assess tool accuracy and precision including CMMs such as Faro Arm and have an understanding of the concept of calibration standards hierarchy and traceability for M&TE.
- Ability to identify and segregate nonconforming material and be familiar with the material review process.
- Ability to work across multiple organizations in a fast paced, smaller company environment
- Experience working with heavy machinery, forklift, or other related equipment

- Work environment is fast paced; noise and temperature levels can vary.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE)
Safety:
- If your role requires the wearing of steel-toed boots, the company will reimburse employees $50 per pair every two years.
