Your Role

As an Agronomy Technician you will be working at the heart of the growing process at our state-of-the-art vertical farm near Sandwich, Kent. The job is varied. While your core responsibilities will be to make sure the crops are grown in the optimum environmental conditions and received the right fertigation in line with the production blueprints, you will also be working with the production team, technical team, and R&D team. You will gather data, help with seeding, harvesting crop movement, sure our crops meet all quality and food safety requirements. You will also be working with the project team, to make sure new equipment and facilities are performing as they should.

Requirements

Role Description

·       Monitor fertigation and environmental conditions.

·       Check the crops during the growth cycle and after harvest.

·       Collect samples to send for analysis.

·       Calibrate the various measuring and dosing equipment (pH, EC, dosing pumps…etc.)

·       Mix fertilisers.

·       Help with farm operations when required

·       Get involved in the improvement process and relevant discussions.

·       Always work in a safe manner, and be involved in our H&S improvement plans

·       Assist the Grower Manager on an ad hoc basis.

Who are you?

·       You are a reliable enthusiastic person, passionate about plants, and plant production.

·       You have a background in plant science, agronomy and/or horticulture.

·       You are pro-active, inquisitive, and observant.

·       You are hands-on, practical individual who is hard-working and articulate.

·       You can organise your workload with little supervision, but still, you hate missing a deadline.

·       You are meticulous; you know how to be succinct and precise at the same time.

·       You are a good communicator, written or verbal, formal or not.

·       You enjoy fast-paced working and collaborating with like-minded individuals.

·       You have excellent ICT skills.
