The HALO Trust is the world’s largest and oldest international humanitarian mine action non-government organisation (NGO). Established in Afghanistan in 1988, we been saving lives and helping war-torn communities recover by making their land safe. Our mission is to protect lives and restore the livelihoods of those affected by conflict. We are renowned for clearing landmines, handling unexploded ordnance, educating communities on safety, and building secure arms stores., we now employ over 11,000 staff in 30 countries and territories.
HALO Ukraine has been operating since 2016, responding to the humanitarian crisis in the country by delivering humanitarian mine action activities, including survey, mine clearance and explosive ordnance risk education. The programme currently employs over 1200 staff members and is looking now looking for a competent Workshop Manager to enable our efforts.
This role is part of a project for the development and expansion of a Centre for Innovation in Mechanical Demining in Southern Ukraine. This project includes the running of a workshop which provides equipment support to enable operational teams to deliver humanitarian mine action activities and conduct trials on innovative mechanical clearance equipment and methods.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the management of this workshop. They will work closely with the Fleet and Mechanical Clearance departments to manage vehicle maintenance and with the Project Manager, responsible for leading this project.
