ALM Hopewell Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization that provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City. A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients, of which greater than ninety-five percent are chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. Hopewell Center operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center for adults and youth.

Summary : Provides general nursing care to clients in a behaviroal health care clinic by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with scope of practice.

Explains treatments to client to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.

Review clients charts/ records/obeserve significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or provider of clients's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs and record them in medical records.

Report vital sighns that are out of range to the provider.

Respond to clients call inquiring about medications or other medical inquiries

Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.

Other duties as assigned by Nursing supervisor.

Education and/or Experience :

Accredited college or university nursing program degree with an unencumbered license in Missouri.

License/Certification:

• LVN (Preferred)
• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• LPN (Required)
