Position Overview:
This supervisory position manages a team of Wholesale Advocates to ensure that the daily operating procedures run smoothly and efficiently while working closely with the Wholesale Operations Manager. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee day-to-day activities of assigned team; identify team’s strengths and weaknesses; determine areas of opportunity and the appropriate steps to improve.
- Actively train, manage and develop the team by providing in the moment coaching, feedback and mentorship related to operations and customer experience; regularly communicating and coaching employees.
- Lead Associate Director, Area Manager and Operations Manager site visits and keep leaders up to speed on any changes occurring at the site level.
- Work with leadership to define team objectives.
- Generate, monitor and understand reports to support business needs while presenting to upper management.
- Provide vision and guidance for site specific “Areas of Responsibility”.
- Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs as well as by finding new, creative and effective methods of recognition.
- Regularly participate in recruiting and communicating with external candidates.
- Actively participate in the development and growth of the team.
- Manage site operations, consumer outreach, employee development and a portfolio of non-retail vehicles.
- Identify and make important strategic decisions within the scope of the role.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on vehicle trade intake operations and validation procedures.
- Address and effectively manage complex and sensitive customer- facing issues.
- Monitor the transportation of all inbound and outbound wholesale inventory.
- Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Manage daily workload and goals and create a strong and positive morale and spirit throughout the team.
- Maintain site integrity by accurately tracking vehicles and ensuring regular upkeep of facilities.
What the Job Requires:
To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Supply Chain or similar field
- 5+ years work experience in a customer facing team environment
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Proven history of developing and coaching employees
- Prior experience with strategic planning, process improvement, and guiding teams to exceed goals
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, compliant with Company guidelines.
- Ability to operate a computer and/or tablet
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks to team members
- Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers and coworkers in a positive, professional and courteous manner
- Ability to multitask, problem solve, and prioritize effectively
- Ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to frequently drive
- Ability to push and pull in an environment that could be cold, hot, wet or noisy
- Ability to be around fumes or odors that are from vehicles under maintenance
- Ability to work in various weather conditions such as: rain, snow, heat, etc
