Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a national Director of Sales that will be responsible for leading our US sales team and nationwide growth of Richelieu products and market share.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital role charged with the growth and development of both people and business, this Director of Sales will report to our VP/GM for the US and will work hand-in-hand with regional General Managers, area Sales Managers, and the US sales team.  This position is responsible for developing and executing a sound strategy for growth in all product categories.  The Director of Sales evaluates and modifies sales practices, incentive plans, and metrics to direct all sales team members towards continual product sales and growth goals.  This position will require heavy travel; ideal candidate location will be Central or Eastern United States near a major airport.

  • Assess sales goals and develop a strategic growth plan for increasing market penetration
  • Partner with regional General Managers and other product category leaders to develop and implement sales growth strategies
  • Provide ongoing training and development towards the sales team including consultative selling skills, effective business-building methodologies, and product knowledge
  • Affect a high level of employee drive, passion, and team morale while upholding and demonstrating Richelieu’s core values
  • Direct and monitor sales activities, managing performance by setting clear expectations and promoting a high-performance culture
  • Travel as needed to various Richelieu locations and markets, especially to assist with strengthening customer relationships and/or to attend conferences or events related to the kitchen and bath, cabinet hardware, solid surfacing, and other industry segments

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Multiple years of experience leading individuals and teams of outside sales representatives within the building materials industry (specifically cabinetry products and related components)
  • Experience in a distribution business model
  • Demonstrable experience with developing and implementing successful market share increases and/or product sales growth
  • An empathetic leader with superior emotional intelligence, able to recognize and develop the unique traits of team members to optimize their potential and lead them in professional growth
  • Proactive and autonomous, able to effectively collaborate as part of a larger team
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated analytical, planning, and monitoring skills
  • Able to proficiently use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams for daily tasks and functions; must have reliable home internet access with capability to conduct and attend video meetings
  • Must be able to travel by plane extensively to various Richelieu regions and branch locations
