You will design, maintain, and secure large-scale, high-load databases. This role involves driving database strategy, providing technical leadership, and ensuring that our systems are built for high availability, performance, and security.</p><p dir="ltr"></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:<br></p><p dir="ltr"></p><p dir="ltr">- Oversee the administration, optimisation, and maintenance of various relational and non-relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, ClickHouse, MongoDB, etc.</p><p dir="ltr">- Design and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant database solutions capable of supporting large-scale, high-load operations.</p><p dir="ltr">- Lead database architecture decisions and work closely with development and operations teams to ensure effective deployment and performance.</p><p dir="ltr">- Ensure robust security measures are in place, including encryption, access control, and comprehensive backup strategies.</p><p dir="ltr">- Conduct performance tuning and optimisation, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in distributed databases and systems.</p><p dir="ltr">- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and team members, helping them navigate complex database challenges.</p><p dir="ltr">- Manage and resolve complex database-related incidents, ensuring swift recovery and minimising downtime.</p><p dir="ltr">- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with business goals and system requirements.</p><p></p><ul></ul><p><br></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><p dir="ltr">- 8+ years of experience in database administration, with deep expertise in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, and distributed databases.</p><p dir="ltr">- Deep experience operating databases in cloud environments with a focus on AWS database offerings.</p><p dir="ltr">- Proficiency in SQL and experience automating database tasks through scripting and tools.</p><p dir="ltr">- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in distributed databases, including performance tuning and bottleneck analysis.</p><p dir="ltr">- Strong knowledge of security practices including encryption, access control, and fault tolerance.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><p dir="ltr">- Extensive experience with distributed systems, including designing and managing distributed databases with replication, sharding, and high-availability configurations.</p><p dir="ltr">- Knowledge of virtualisation and containerisation concepts, including experience working with Kubernetes.</p><p dir="ltr">- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Zabbix and Prometheus for maintaining the performance and health of databases.</p><p dir="ltr">- Experience with Change Data Capturing (CDC) techniques.</p><p dir="ltr">- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide team members through the intricacies of various databases.</p><p dir="ltr"><br></p><p dir="ltr">This is a prime opportunity to take a leadership role in shaping the future of our database architecture.
