JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Senior Manager to work with the Controller on Financial reporting and IFRS technical accounting topics.

The Financial Reporting Senior Manager duties include preparation of accounting memos and associated accounting on technical accounting topics such as IFRS 2 - Share based payments, IFRS 15 - Revenue recognition, IFRS 9 - Financial Instruments, IAS 36 - Impairment of assets, IAS 37 - Provisions, IAS 12 - Income taxes, IAS 38 - Intangible Assets, and Mergers and Acquisitions. The Financial Reporting Senior Manager will act as a key liaison to the auditors and external tax experts on technical accounting topics. The ideal candidate contains a professional qualification in IFRS, has worked in a big 4 audit firm with 10+ years post qualified experience. A successful Financial Reporting Senior Manager combines excellent analytical and application skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze technical accunting topics.

This role will report directly to the Global Controller.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and review of global consolidated financial statements
  • Responsible for the preparation of all technical accounting memos
  • Preparation and review of subsidiary financial statements
  • Key liaison with auditors on technical accounting topics
  • Ownership of the relationship with valuation experts
  • Responsible for the internal controls and monitor compliance activities
  • Produce error-free accounting entries related to technical accounting topics
  • Support global accounting team with technical questions
  • Assist leadership with debt financing or acquisition related activities.
  • Prepare relevant disclosures for the consolidated financial statements
  • Support in the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements
  • Prepare and review tax and transfer pricing strategies in conjunction with the Global Controller.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with relevant tax agencies.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Prepare accounting policy documentation to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS principles

Requirements:
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant fields
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS principles
  • Previous experience with a Big 4 auditor firm
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Netsuite or similar ERP packages
  • Relevant certification (e.g. ACCA or ACA) with 10 years post qualified experience
  • Experience working on complex accounting topics such as IFRS 9 Financial Instruments.
  • Excellent analytical and application skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • Previous management experience will be preferred
