We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Endocrinology office in Zephyrhills.  This position is responsible for assisting providers and manages clinical functions in the department. Must have attended a MA school or been a MA for 2 years. Bilingual a plus but not required

Keys to Success in this Role:

• Completes the start of day processes
• Properly room patients
• Takes and records vitals
• Assists provider during examination and with treatment
• Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider
• Performs EKGs as needed
• Enters charges for services rendered by the medical assistant
• Processes medication requests per provider
• Handles medication refill requests
• Obtains prescription overrides and prior authorization when needed
• Manages clinical tasks
• Handles patient calls:
• Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education
• Organizes and maintains sample and supply closets
• Assists provider with completion of forms requested by patients
• Prepares charts
• Completes the end of day processes

Job Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Completion of Medical Assistant program
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred
• Able to multitask
• Strong team player
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong customer service orientation
• 2 years medical experience in an office setting
  Phlebotomy skills required

• Physical requirements
• Able to stand or walk for long periods
• Use of proper body mechanics
• Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

Occupational Exposure:

• High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
