We are looking for a candidate who will can assist in managing the organization's $8 billion portfolio of corporate credit risk. Candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree w/ strong academic qualifications and 4-7 years' experience covering Financial Institutions, pareferably at a "buy-side " institution, such as an insurance company or asset manager. Preference may be given to candidates with an MBA or CFA degree. Candidate should have strong communication & financial modeling skills. Famiiarity with Bloomberg API is a plus.
Duties will include but not be limited to -
1. EValuate & monitor reditworthiness of corporate credits within assigned sectors.
2. Keep abreast opf industry & market developments that affect the credit portfolio.
3. Produce written reprots on indivual credits.
4. Conduct periodic reviews of assigned sectors, including the identification of industrywide strengths,weaknesses, opportunities & threats, &likely implications for specific credit positions.
5. Communicate with other buy-side, sell-side & rating agency analysts to enhance perspective.
6. Review bond indentures, covenants & other terms related to bond offerings & corporate actions.
7. Prepare financial models of material crfedit exposures, including " what-if " scenarios, to critically assess creditworthiness & proactively minimize potential credit losses.
8. Respond in a timely manner to management requests for credit opinions & market perspectives.
9. Assit the investments team on key initiatives, special projects, & other credit matters.
10. Collaboarate w/ investment operations, accounting, & others on portfolio positions as needed.
11.Communicate with the PM, trader & management on credit matters that affect the porfolio.
12.Collaborate w/ investment analytics to improe risk identification & monitoring tools.
Minimum Travel. Must be a resident of New York State or willing to relocate.
