Overhead Splicer

We're currently seeking an experienced and motivated Overhead Splicer to join our team in Newcastle and help drive key projects forward. You’ll play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and expansion of telecom networks, ensuring high standards of work and safety on site.

What We Expect of You:

Aa an Overhead Splicer your key responsibilities include conducting live network fusion splicing using Fujikura 70s or similar equipment, splicing and testing optical fibres to quality standards, and generating detailed fibre characterisation reports. You will be expected to work unsupervised and as part of a team to meet targets, while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation. Additional tasks include interpreting site proposals and RAMS, connecting fibres in new infrastructure, and performing fibre testing with tools like OTDR and power meters.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in fibre optic splicing and on-site work, as well as a strong understanding of design schematics, duct diagrams, and network maps. You should be comfortable producing and updating daily work logs. PIA accreditation (SA001 and SA002) is essential, along with a full UK driving license and valid NRSWA street works certification.
