In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
The supply chain engineer will analyze, improve, and oversee Samsung’s supply chain systems and processes, and design and implement programs to improve the efficiency of those processes. They will study the existing infrastructure for supply chain and logistics operations, identifying opportunities for improvements, and design systems that streamline or automate procedures. The goal is to increase productivity, eliminate waste, and cut expenses. They use a variety of software programs and tools, and may also use statistical calculations and data analysis to determine the most efficient routines and strategies.
Specific Job Duties:
• Determine efficient utilization of resources by analyze layouts, labor force, equipment, driver and equipment utilization charts.
• Assist in development of innovative solutions to solve supply chain problems.
• Responsible for developing and sustaining robust, cost effective solutions and processes.
• Translate corporate-level and regional initiatives into the overall network optimization plan.
• Establish data and project plans, as well as manage and leading projects for logistics, transportation, and warehouse efficiency projects and inventory to support order fulfillment objectives and projects.
• Develop, present and execute a funnel of strategies and tactics to reduce cost-and supply risk through disciplined analytics, trending, modeling.
• Manage technical external relationships with suppliers and service providers.
• All other tasks and duties as assigned.
Shift: 1st - M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field and a background in supply chain or logistics roles.
• Proficiency with ERP software programs is helpful.
• Professional credential such as APICS - CPIM certification is an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:
• Programming experience, knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, etc.), SQL.
• Ability to propose creative and elegant solutions to complex technical problems.
