<p><strong>Huawei's Munich Research Center</strong> is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.<br></p><p>We are looking for an Industrial PhD Student in the topic of <strong>Direct-to-Smartphone Satellite Communications.</strong> Non-terrestrial networks (NTN) with direct-to-smartphone connectivity augment 5G and beyond 5G wireless communication systems and provide coverage in areas currently not served by terrestrial networks. Currently several low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite mega-constellations are planned and launched. However, for direct-to-smartphone connectivity from LEO satellites, the propagation channel is a particularly challenging because it involves large path-losses and high and rapidly changing Doppler frequencies and propagation delays. <br>As a PhD student in <strong>Wireless Terminal Chipset Technology Lab</strong> at MRC you will explore the latest technology to optimize digital signal processing algorithms for the satellite and/or the smartphone side.
