The Opportunity

We’re expanding our Data Analytics Career Track services to support successful outcomes for our students. Are you passionate about data analytics, programming, and helping curious data analytics students master fundamental skills that will lead them to great careers? This position may be for you! 

We are looking for a detail-oriented grader to grade projects and exercises that students complete in an online bootcamp course. You will utilize existing materials to assist with grading submissions in a timely manner and provide feedback to students as they proceed through the course. This is a remote, part-time contract role (average of 10-15 hours per week) with a flexible schedule, reporting to the Outcomes Program Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate student design projects, primarily the mini projects and non capstone projects, as well as capstone associated projects against rubrics - these projects cover a variety of fundamental data analytics skills and concepts 
  • Provide written feedback on assignments informed by Springboard’s rubrics and solution sets, feedback will lead to student growth
  • Evaluate student projects within 3 business days to give them quick feedback, your minimum time commitment is ~10 hours per week
  • Communicate with student’s mentors to resolve questions, provide clarity on their strengths and weakness, and calibrate on feedback when necessary
  • Escalate at-risk students through appropriate channels and Program Manager
  • Graders may need to evaluate presentations for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences (synchronously)
  • Graders will be paid for hours worked via our invoicing tool

Experience

  • Have at least 1-2 years of experience solving real-life business and data analytics problems, and are comfortable working with large data sets
  • 1-3 years of grading experience, such as working as a TA in an undergrad or graduate program a plus

Skills: 

  • Excellent data analytics, visualizations and storytelling knowledge
  • Proficiency in key parts of the Data Analytics Career Track curriculum
    • Structure foundations - problem solving frameworks, issue trees, hypothesis trees etc. 
    • Business analysis - financial concepts, economic concepts, statistical concepts, and using excel
    • Presenting analysis - effective communication strategies and visualizations
    • Data connectivity - structured and unstructured databases, set theory, SQL
    • Python analysis - jupyter notebooks, data cleaning, visualizing with seaborn and matplotlib
  • Excellent written communication skills
    • Ability to give detailed and actionable feedback
    • Ability to strike a balance between maintaining objective grading baseline and allowing subjective considerations
  • Ability to meet deadlines within tight timelines
  • Knowledge in data analytics industry needs, trends, and employability 
  • Possess a growth mindset and be able to receive feedback

Pay for this role is on a per project basis. It is paid $6 per project graded.
