VOLUNTEER POSITION

Committee members are responsible for helping organize remote and if permitting, in-person events, attend weekly meetings and participate in Local Trips to walk the dogs of community members who otherwise could not. If the Humane Society opens to public volunteers, they may also supervise trips to the Humane with volunteers in order to care for the local shelter animals. Each position will have specific portfolios but will work cohesively within the team to raise awareness and funds for the Kingston Humane Society.

Applications will remain open until a competitive candidate pool is established. The closing date will be determined based on the volume and quality of received applications.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

*Eligible candidates must have paid the Arts & Science Undergraduate Membership Fee

8-month term from September 1st, 2024 to April 30th, 2025.

Positions Available

  • Events Coordinators (2)
    • The events coordinators are responsible for for ensuring the success of remote and on-campus fundraising events, including purchasing decorations, organizing speakers and booking the campus location of the event. The two largest Lost Paws events are Awareness Week, which will happen both semesters, and Critters on Campus, which will occur in the Winter semester.
  • Sponsorship and Finance Coordinators (2)
    • The sponsorship and finance coordinator is responsible for reaching out to nearby businesses to get sponsored prizes, grants, and/or food. They have a role in events like Awareness Week (i.e. obtaining prize for the winner of the Cutest Pet Contest) and Volunteer Appreciation nights (i.e. free pizza!). They will also be responsible for managing the Lost Paws’ budget and keeping track of other coordinators’ spending. They will allocate funds for each event, and count the total funds raised.
  • Trips Coordinators (3)
    • The trips coordinators are responsible for scheduling volunteers, drivers, and committee members for trips. They communicate with all members of Lost Paws to make and send out the schedule.
  • Volunteer Coordinators (2)
    • The volunteer coordinator is the main point of contact for Lost Paws volunteers. They schedule volunteers for events on campus, organize the volunteer of the month program, host the volunteer appreciation events, and communicate with volunteers and drivers through the Facebook groups.
  • Marketing Coordinators (3)
    • The marketing coordinators are responsible for creating all the graphics and advertising for our events on campus. They create everything from Instagram posts advertising Lost Paws events to Snapchat filters. They will also create designs for fundraising merchandise and events. They are also responsible for keeping the Lost Paws Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok accounts up to date. Responsibilities: Attend weekly meetings Help to supervise trips and foster a loving environment for the animals, such as supervising trips to the Humane Society in the event we are able to run in person trips, Organize and run events, Responsible for specific duties of individual committee member positions
