Essential Duties
Responsible for researching/analyzing macro-economic and banking issues that are relevant to the Bank's members, counterparties and their risk profiles, in addition to preparing detailed credit analysis of members/counterparties, including mortgage insurers, vendors, mortgage servicers, housing associates.
Anticipate issues that can have an impact on members/counterparties. Provide risk guidance to the various business units to ensure the safety and soundness of the Bank.
Identifies growing risk exposures that are changing the risk profiles of members and counterparties and recommends necessary changes to the Bank's risk management policies, and procedures to protect the Bank.
Trains and collaborates with junior analysts to write comprehensive, detailed and accurate credit reports and to identify emerging economic industry trends that affect member and counterparty risk profile.
Prepares at a minimum a weekly report highlighting credit risk trends affecting members and counterparties as well as an economic analysis of domestic and global issues also affecting the Bank.
Monitors exposures relative to established limits to ensure compliance, notifying senior management of any breaches.
Required Experience and Skills
15+ years in Banking industry or equivalent performing Financial/Economic/Credit Analysis and report preparation.
Knowledge of global financial markets, banking industry including regulatory environment both existing and emerging issues, NRSRO rating systems, etc. Understanding of domestic and foreign banking systems and macro/micro factors influencing bank risk profiles.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite of Products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with Databases and Database Management Tools, Data Mining (Querying) a plus.
