About the role:
The Director, National Programs is responsible for the quality and reach of our services to educators across the country. As the Director of National Programs, you will play a critical role in bringing leadership to our Programs team to build partnerships, execute high quality services, and ultimately have an impact on thousands of students and educators as they build their AI Readiness.
We are looking for someone who can build the foundations with a new team and support the vision and direction of national service expansion. The Director will both manage a team and take on individual contributor work through managing national partnerships and directly working with senior leaders in education to advise on their AI Readiness strategy. The Director will be responsible for both earned revenue and impact targets that support our goal of reaching students across the country.

- Location: This full-time, exempt position can be done on a flexible schedule remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with access to high speed internet.The candidate should be comfortable and equipped to work efficiently in a remote work environment.
- Compensation: The baseline compensation for this role is $160,000 - $180,000 depending on experience.

- Start date: We’d like a candidate to start as soon as possible after receiving an offer, though there is some flexibility.
✅ Your Responsibilities:
Leadership of Program Strategy Vision and Team - 40%
- Develop our programs strategy including geographic expansion strategy, services programming roadmap, pricing strategy and fee for service strategy
- Work with executive leadership to develop and execute org-level programmatic strategy, including informing decisions about earned and philanthropic revenue goals
- Manage Programs team and provide team and individual leadership aligned to overall organizational and team goals
- Design and implement impact and sustainability metrics and tracking for services and support team accountability to those measures
- Directly manage attaining earned revenue goals
- Manage feedback loops from partners to support development of new programs and refinement of existing ones
National Program Management - 30%
- Develop and manage national programs including Trailblazer teacher fellowship and Professional Learning Communities
- Develop and manage non-district partnerships with nonprofits who support AI Literacy in communities we do not directly serve
Strategic Advising to Education Systems and Educators - 30%
- Stay up to date on the latest policy research and guidance in order to provide cutting-edge advisory to aiEDU’s partners
- Provide strategic advising to senior educators in states and districts across the country
- Develop and lead Communities of Practice with Superintendents, cabinet level officials, and Principals
- Provide expert support to all programs leads as they engage with system leaders
✅ Your Impact:
Within 1 Month, You Will:
- Complete aiEDU’s onboarding program, in addition to getting to know our Programs teams and partners
- Develop goals and strategic plan for Programs development aligned to organizational goals
- Develop plan for Trailblazers program for the year
- Develop partnership development approach and support team to implement and track
Within 3 Months, You Will:
- Implement the foundational systems for the team to manage and track partnership impact
- Launch Trailblazers program and fully own partnership management
- Develop vision for implementation of PLC programs
- Provide ongoing support partnership expansion plans
Within 6 Months, You Will:
- Successfully develop several new district partnerships
- Implement feedback loops for developing new programs and modifying existing ones
- Launch PLC programming
Within a Year, You Will:
- Meet earned revenue targets and impact goals
- Successfully established expanded district and non-district partnerships
- Lead an engaged and thriving team

- Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
- Preference for Mid-Atlantic and/or California based but open to other locations as well
- Knowledge of AI and what a district needs to do to support students in AI Literacy
- Experience working with senior leaders in district and state contexts
- Partnership development experience and/or sales in an educational context
- Ability to motivate and influence senior leaders to action
- Ability to lead and manage a team to high performance
- Knowledge of K-12 school systems and how they operate and fund partnerships
- Outstanding management skills with a focus on empathetic, people-first leadership
- Given our highly collaborative and team oriented environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Ability to operate in a start-up and ambiguous environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities amid ambiguity and to leverage creative thinking and resourcefulness
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Slack with the ability to produce high quality work products.
