Job SummaryThe Receptionist performs a variety of tasks as it is the first contact via telephone by the prospective patient including providing excellent customer/patient services via phone and in person; referring callers to the appropriate departments; making appointments for patients; assisting patients/clients with forms. The Receptionist must serve as a point of contact with other internal and external department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Greets and receives all visitors/patients who approach the Receptionist Area
• Answers all questions related Medical Center Services, the location of these services and how the services can be obtained
• Provides in-patient information and is responsible for the Visitor Pass policy
• Answers routine questions and directs patients/visitors to appropriate areas within Medical Center
• Answers telephones and responds to routine inquiries regarding patient information utilizing the ADT and patient Census reports
• Issues patient visitor passes to authorized persons per medical center policy
• Contacts Nursing Units for approval before permitting visiting during non-visiting hours
• Maintains an orderly Visitor Pass Filing System
• Monitors visitor pass for shortage and replacements
• Picks-up census sheets from admitting office
• Reports all lobby injury incidents immediately to the Nursing Supervisor on 3 Linsky who will investigate
• Prepares an Incident Report on any injury occurring in the Linsky Lobby
• Notifies Environmental Services if Lobby Area needs to be clean
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned
Skills:• Must be able to use ADT and read Census Reports.
• Intermediate MS Office Suite
• Must be courteous, friendly and possess interpersonal skills compatible to serving a diverse community. •
