Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced mid-level public cloud administrator to join our team. As a cloud administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our public cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud-based systems, with firm control over the usage and costs. You will work closely with our engineering, operations, and security teams to design, deploy, and optimize cloud based solutions to meet our business needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the core AWS and Azure computer and storage services and automation tools, as well as strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain AWS/ Azure infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, IAM roles, and other AWS services. Also, similar experience with Azure.
  • Knowledge of AWS/ Azure Well-Architected Framework best practices.
  • Monitor the health, performance, and security of cloud resources using industry standard monitoring tools.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure usage across all areas with an objective to minimize the usage.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including IAM policies, security groups, encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Design and implement scalable and fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure to support our applications and services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS/ Azure services, network connectivity, performance, and availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and implement changes to cloud infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with cloud engineering best practices, new features and emerging technologies, and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and maintaining AWS and Azure infrastructure in a large-scale production environment.
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting production issues and fixing infrastructure issues with minimal downtimes.
  • Experience configuring networking and DNS resources such as VPC, load balancers and Route 53.  
  • Experience working with internal and third party audit teams to bring infrastructure to various compliance levels and standards such as FedRAMP and SOC 2 Type 2, and rolled out various user access control methods for the organization to be compliant with such standards.
  • AWS and Azure certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer preferred.
  • Experience working on AWS GovCloud and/or solid understanding of how it differs from the commercial version. 
  • Experience working for government entities, preferably defense establishments. 
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git). 
  • Experience building and managing Kubernetes clusters using EKS and other tools, preferably REK2.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
