About Carbonfuture

Carbonfuture is the Trust Infrastructure for durable carbon removal. Today, the Trust Infrastructure consists of two products that seamlessly connect the entire carbon removal lifecycle: Carbonfuture MRV+, the most comprehensive MRV solution for durable CDR, and Carbonfuture Marketplace, the leading marketplace for durable CDR. At Carbonfuture, we build trust throughout the carbon removal journey with our rigorous, data-driven approach, ensuring unmatched quality and reliability of carbon removal. We empower suppliers by providing the essential project support and finance needed to transform their carbon removal projects into fully certified carbon credits. For corporate buyers, we offer access to portfolios of carbon removal credits adhering to the highest quality standards and provide visibility at each step of the carbon removal lifecycle via data-driven transparency enabled by Carbonfuture MRV+. We work with some of the world's most ambitious climate leaders such as Microsoft, Swiss Re, and the World Economic Forum First Movers Coalition.

Your role & responsibilities

The supply of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits needs to be scaled up quickly with dramatic potential across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As an EMEA CDR Sourcing Manager you will apply your effective negotiation skills to recruit suppliers and play a key consulting role to help them scale and commercialize their carbon removal projects. You will furthermore support supplier due diligence - a key ingredient of our Trust Infrastructure towards carbon removal buyers - and apply your technical knowledge on carbon removal, as well as financial analysis of the projects’ business plans.

You will be part of Carbonfuture’s Global CDR Sales team and work closely with our European Head of Supply based in Switzerland.

What you'll do

  • Identify new suppliers and projects across different types of durable removals, with a near-term focus on biochar. Frontier removal approaches (e.g. BECCS, DACCS, Carbonated Building Materials and Enhanced Weathering) will increasingly become part of your role in the medium-long term.
  • Build networks and relationships with carbon removal partners and the greater ecosystem in EMEA, including companies, associations, agencies, etc.
  • Manage your own pipeline of removal projects. Hold the relationship with your own key accounts and regularly update the Buyer Sales team on their progress.
  • Offer reliable and efficient support for our supplier partners towards the issuance of certified removal credits.
  • Become an expert user of Carbonfuture’s digital platform: manage removals and credits, onboard suppliers to the platform, guide suppliers on new features, and give detailed feedback to the product team.
  • Support supplier due diligence, which involves reputational, financial, and environmental risk assessment.
  • Support communication with large corporate partners, including presenting certain key removal projects and becoming an expert for the existing removal methodologies.
  • Represent Carbonfuture at conferences, associations, policy, and lobby groups.
  • Contribute and actively exchange with the scientific and/or policy community.

What you bring to the table

  • You have more than 2 years of professional experience in environmental technologies, carbon markets and/or greenhouse gas emission strategies or related fields.
  • You have a solid sales track record, from pipeline building to effective deal closure.
  • You have experience in initiating and managing partner relationships.
  • You have a good understanding of durable removals and the differences between removal technologies.
  • You are inquisitive and always looking for new opportunities and different angles to solve problems.
  • You are a skillful and compelling communicator. You are fluent in English. French, German and/or Spanish are a plus.
  • You are persistent and have a strong bias to action.
  • You are open for business travel, also to sometimes remote locations.
  • You've used, HubSpot, salesforce or similar and pride yourself on keeping your data clean and current

What we offer

  • A ground-breaking business with an early foothold in the carbon removal industry and the ability to have a real impact on climate change
  • Small but rapidly growing, international team with a shared mission to address climate change
  • Flexible working hours
  • Competitive salary
  • 30 days paid leave + bank holidays
  • nilo.health (Mental Health & Wellbeing)
  • Nice colleagues and a friendly, open and inclusive environment
  • Depending on where you live: Financial support for childcare & Sports benefits

Candidates from cultures and backgrounds underrepresented in VC-backed startups and the climate space are strongly encouraged to apply. A diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other is an integral part of our culture. We actively welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We are an equal-opportunity employer. In the case of equal suitability, preference is given to structurally discriminated individuals.
