Background:

- The ideal candidate will have a deep background in software engineering and understand the SDLC and advanced concepts such as High-Availability, Vertical and Horizontal Scaling, and Cloud environments

Must Haves:

- The candidates must have AWS & Kubernetes experience

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with developers, testers, and deployment teams to create software deployment/hosting plans

Implement and change AWS to deploy and host development and testing components

Coordinate major AWS environment changes with primary AWS team

Plan and onboard teams onto the CICD platform (Harness.io)

Implement Jenkins pipelines, creating docker images and orchestration of builds

Writes and updates automated scripts for installation of server software products

Implements highly scalable & available applications using AWS services. EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, AutoScaling, Cloudwatch, IAM, etc.

Configures containers necessary hardware or virtual machines and operating environments as needed for development and testing teams

Works with developers and hardware teams to update infrastructure and OS for applications

Works with developers and infrastructure teams to install or upgrade third party software

Monitors a system's performance, and reliability as well as the daily data processing

Solves complex problems and issues as part of a team

Participates in project-related stand-up meetings

Reviews and provides feedback for all external facing user documentation, including on-line self-help materials

Performs production installations and upgrades of server software products

Coaches and mentors other teams on CICD tools

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Proficient in writing and modifying scripting langauges (Python, Ruby or Groovy, JavaScript)

Experience with Linux shell scripting environments such as bash

Experience with AWS implementing highly scalable & available applications using AWS services. EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, AutoScaling, Cloudwatch, IAM, etc.

Experience with implementing and managing CICD solutions (GitLab, Harness, Jenkins)

Experience with Containerization (kubernetes, containerd)

Experience in Cloud based hosting

Strong experience in automating Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)

Strong understanding of disaster recovery planning and execution

Deep knowledge on infrastructure troubleshooting

Demand attention on key issues, escalate and own the next steps for DevOps delivery, be able to interface and communicate with Management as needed

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent communicator (written and verbal): ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables

Education

BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience

5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
