Position: IT Manager

Job Summary:

The IT Manager is responsible for leading the IT team and managing the overall IT infrastructure of the company in a fully remote environment. This role requires overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology systems to ensure the seamless operation of IT services, security, and support across a distributed workforce. The IT Manager will collaborate closely with various departments to align IT initiatives with business objectives while also fostering a strong remote work culture.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

- Oversee and manage the IT team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support, ensuring efficient operation across different time zones.

- Design and implement IT strategies to ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of systems, particularly in a remote setting.

- Manage virtual environments, including Hyper-V, Azure, and VMware, and oversee cloud infrastructure to support remote operations.

- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint).


System and Network Management:

- Administer and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and accessibility for remote employees.

- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions tailored to remote work environments.

- Oversee the deployment and support of cloud-based solutions to ensure seamless collaboration and access for remote teams.


Remote Work Environment Management:

- Ensure efficient IT support for a geographically distributed team, including managing remote access solutions, VPNs, and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom).

- Oversee the IT onboarding process for remote employees, ensuring they have the necessary hardware, software, and access to tools on their first day.

- Manage and coordinate with HR for the procurement, distribution, and maintenance of IT equipment for remote employees, and maintain accurate asset tracking.


Tool Management:

- Oversee the IT onboarding and ensure the proper functioning of tools like Microsoft Office Suite, RingCentral, Zoom, Krisp, AnyDesk, Loom, Clockify, Moodle, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other tools.

- Provide support and troubleshooting for these tools and ensure they are updated and optimized for use by remote teams.


Cybersecurity and Compliance:

- Ensure cybersecurity across remote work environments, including endpoint security, data encryption, and secure access protocols.

- Implement and monitor data protection policies to safeguard sensitive company and client information.

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) in a remote work setting.


Documentation and Communication:

- Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring transparency and accessibility for the remote team.

- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding project progress, incidents, and system changes.

- Conduct regular system reviews and provide recommendations to enhance performance and client satisfaction.


Software Application Support:

- Provide software application support to clients and colleagues in other departments.

- Perform creation and analysis of software application functionality and suggest improvements (Microsoft Dynamics, Power Apps, Office 365, CRM applications &Azure AD).

- Ensure the application's effective front-end and back-end functionality.

- Consult with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.

- Manage code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality.

- Establish the root causes of application errors, hardware, and network issues, and escalate serious concerns.

- Keep a record of configuration changes and schedule application updates.

- Document processes and monitor application performance metrics.

- Create video and document guides for agents across all platforms.

- Handle support tickets and manage and repair company equipment and devices.


Additional Responsibilities:

- Ensure the alignment of IT initiatives with business goals and objectives, with a focus on supporting remote operations.

- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies through continuous learning and professional development.

- Document internal processes and ensure accurate and timely recording of time and expenses, even in a remote setup.


Remote Employee Training and Development:

- Develop and deliver IT-related training programs for remote employees to ensure they are proficient with the tools and systems in use.

- Encourage and support continuous learning opportunities for IT team members, particularly in remote IT management.


Performance Metrics and Reporting:

Define and monitor KPIs for IT performance in a remote setting, such as system uptime, response times, and ticket resolution rates.

Regularly report on IT performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management, highlighting any remote-specific issues or trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in IT roles such as System Engineer, Network Administrator, or IT Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing remote teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent English communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Job details:

  • Employment Type: Contract
  • Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
  • Compensation: Given the full-time support required, the projected monthly income ranges from ₹50,000 to ₹70,000.
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, adhering to a night shift to align with US Time Zones- Multiple shifts available (5 AM – 2 PM PST / 5:30 PM – 2:30 AM IST) (8 AM – 5 PM PST/8:30 PM TO 5:30 AM). Additionally, the schedule may be changed contingent upon the role requirement.
  • Location: Remote (Work from Home)
  • Internet Requirements: A minimum internet speed of 50 Mbps is required, with a LAN connection recommended for optimal performance.
