As the Director of People Operations and Culture, you will lead our HR function, ensure a healthy company culture, and play a critical role in shaping the broader people strategy of the organization. You will lead the charge on our efforts to foster an innovative and positive culture, with the overarching goal of creating both short and long-term business strategies that retain, grow, and attract the best talent for our organization.

You oversee everything relating to our employees’ happiness and engagement at work, and develop guidelines and policies that reflect and support the company’s core values and beliefs. This role requires an enormous amount of discretion as well as strong communication and employee relations skills.

You will:

  • Serve as a trusted resource to all team members to help navigate career development, management, respect in the workplace, and communication

  • Create a Learning & Development program to support professional development and career growth for all employees
  • Own company handbook and HR best practices across the organization
  • Manage benefits plans
  • Manage and stay up-to-date on all workplace compliance issues at federal and local levels
  • Measure employee engagement and drive diversity and inclusivity initiatives

The ideal candidate will:

  • HR experience (preference for some experience in a startup environment)
  • Track record of success leading company-changing people-related initiatives
  • Strong familiarity with HR best practices, as well as legal, compliance and cultural issues likely to be encountered by a business of our nature
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
  • High social and emotional intelligence. You truly enjoy cultivating strong relationships with people growing and helping them grow their careers
  • Flexibility as a leader who can operate at a highly strategic level, but can also perform tactical HR-related duties for the company
  • Excellent communication skills with strong ability to listen and empathize and handle difficult conversations
  • High degree of comfort working in a team with, and influencing other executives
  • Advocates for both our employees, and for the financial and compliant health of our business, understanding how to balance the two with grace.
  • You know your way around technology and have a keen sense of sharing information across multiple departments. We use Google Apps, Dropbox, Slack, Lever, Lattice and JustWorks.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:

  • Starting base salary range of $140,000 to $160,000 per year
  • Company equity
  • Opportunity for Annual bonus
  • Unlimited vacation time
  • Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance with FSA options and access to One Medical, Health Advocate, Teladoc, KindBody and Talkspace
