Senior Tax Accountant

LastPass is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant: 

An experienced Tax Accountant to play a critical part of the LastPass Tax department. This role will contribute to many aspects of the day-to-day tax functions for both income and indirect tax.

Who will you work with?

This role will work directly with the Director of Tax as well as various peers/colleagues across other functions of the company.

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

Essential functions include:

• Indirect Taxes: Manage and maintain all aspects of the company’s sales/use tax processes.
  • Maintaining registrations and compliance with all taxing jurisdictions and secretary of state offices.
  • Provide information to 3rd party preparers for accurate and timely filing of monthly returns for 30+ state and local jurisdictions
  • Manage the exemption certificate process
  • Assist with any sales and use tax audits that may occur
  • Manage inquiries from customers (both internal and external) regarding indirect tax issues
  • Assist with VAT research and registrations as needed and perform quarterly analysis for indirect tax exposures
• Direct Taxes: Assist as needed with aspects related to income tax
  • Work with third party providers to accurately complete and timely file tax returns (corporations and partnerships)
  • Assist with transfer pricing agreement and policies

• Strong technology skills with demonstrated ability to analyze and improve processes
• Solid research skills
• Exceptional organizational skills with ability to multi-task and manage workflow and deadlines
• Knowledge of indirect taxes, US GAAP and tax accounting for various entity types including partnerships, LLCs, corporations, etc

It's great, but not required:

• Certified Public Accountant or similar designation preferred
• Experience with NetSuite, AvaTax, CertCapture preferred and ability to quickly learn the Company’s specific systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $77,000 in the lowest geographic market and up to USD $90,000 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
