Job Description
Building an Observability and Insight platform is a crucial task, and as a technical director leading this effort, you'd wear many hats. This role demands hands-on expertise, with a requirement for robust technical skills and the capacity to build trust and collaborate effectively with other technical teams.
Requirements
You will:
- Act as the technical architect for the Observability Engineering Team, providing hands-on guidance in designing and implementing innovative solutions.
- Lead the development of key components, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Lead the development and execution of technical strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall company vision and product roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the platform seamlessly into the existing infrastructure/services.
- Mentor and guide engineering team members, sharing technical expertise, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Work closely with other teams (DevOps, Security, QA) to ensure Observability platform aligns with overall organizational goals.
- Contribute to a friendly and helpful company culture
- Help deploy, monitor, and tune the performance of our software
- Participate in peer code review, which we believe results in a higher-quality product
- Follow security best practices (don’t worry, we’ll tell you what they are)
You are someone who:
- Proficiency in a development language, the ability to interact, and gain the respect of senior developers across multiple software and data disciplines.
- Extensive background in software engineering, with a focus on application design, code writing, and active participation in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Has worked and led the technical team to build observability platform
- Exhibits uncompromising integrity.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Thinks critically about complex technical problems.
- Can work independently, while also being an effective member of a team
You have:
- Required Minimum Experience 13 Yrs
- Hands on experience in Rust and C/C++
- Experience with JIT compilation.
- Experience in debugging system level code using gdb debugger
- Good understanding of Linux builds and deployment
- Proven experience with Linux system programming
- Proficient in Linux kernel, at least familiar with 2-3 core subsystems (CPU scheduling, file system, network, I/O, memory management, etc.);
- Professional experience in computer architecture and operating systems
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent training or work experience
- Experience in Cryptography and PKI is a plus
