Job Description: Candidate will be responsible for testing SW & HW on test platforms using *** modem chipsets. Candidate will be responsible for executing test cases and test scenarios & various traffic patterns to characterize physical/MAC layers, protocol layers and applications layers.
Candidate will work directly with back-end engineers in performing daily testing tasks and reporting test results. Must be able to communicate efficiently on test plans and test instructions (as received from Backend engineers) , must be able to perform consistent, thorough and error free execution and provide accurate test status and reports in a timely manner. The effort will involve multimode operations of handset devices, gaining knowledge in the following technology areas: 5G NR Sub-6 & mmW, 4G LTE/IMS & legacy radio access technologies. Adequate hands-on and on-the-job training will be provided to allow the employee to perform their job function. The position will require travel in North America, 75% of the time and an opportunity to relocate to critical markets for longer durations. Some overtime work may be required. Successful candidate must have strong communication skills, must be an effective team player and be able to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications:
Exposure to commercial field test and data analysis tools for wireless telephony product verification Handset test experience with 5G/4G/3G operators or with commercial handset OEMs Experience using QC tools like QXDM, QCAT, XCAL,TEMs and other just execution or diagnostics tools is very useful. Exposure in one or more of following areas is needed
-Understanding of digital communications systems, RF propagation, CDMA, OFDM, telecommunications concepts oUnderstanding of Physical/MAC layers and Call Processing concepts in one or more of the following air interface standards 5G NR Sub-6, mmW, 4G LTE FDD/TDD, IMS/VOLTE and legacy radio access technologies.
-Understanding of wire line and wireless data protocol stacks including RLP, PPP, IP, TCP, IPV6, MIPV6, etc. Understanding of software development and testing concepts for wireless handsets for various air interface standards ,Familiarity with IP telephony network , SIP, IMS, and IP telephony standards
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with air interface performance analysis, characterization and optimization Exposure to programming in C, Perl, shell scripting is a plus
-Valid US drivers license is a requirement
Education Requirements
Bachelors or Diploma in engineering (EE or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory
