Role: Building EngineerDuration: 3 months (Extension also very possible)Location: Emeryville, CA 94608(Onsite)Shift times: M-F: 8 am - 4:30 pmOvertime: Weekends (on call- 3 week rotation 8-4:30pm)
Must Haves:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two years of related experience and/or trade school training Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- HVAC background for electrical experience
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.
Nice to Have:- Universal CFC certification preferred, or working toward CFC certification and/or local or state license in mechanical or HVAC trade.
- Working towards Electrical Journeyman Certification

- What is the Lift Requirement? Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities:- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
- Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
- Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
- Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds.
- Working under moderate supervision, assists in monitoring building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.
- Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintains all equipment as required per preventive maintenance programs prescribed by manufacturer's specifications.
- Performs housekeeping functions and maintains the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
- Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
- Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC.
- Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.
- Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
- Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
- Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
- Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned. No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
- Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
