Position Description | Ensures Operations performance against business requirements through the execution of day to day operations by leading manufacturing hourly workforce and being available to be the first level of elevation for the team. The Operations Leader is 100% responsible for product flow in order to meet and exceed both our internal and external customer's needs. The ideal leader will know how to bring out the best in our employees while helping navigate difficult times. It's a critical need of this position to own and take pride in being a "People Manager” to best capitalize on untapped potential of team members so that both the team and business can be successful. The Operations Leader is responsible for ensuring that all employees are working safely, according to work instructions, and challenging the team in order to continue to grow individually and as a team. Mentoring and coaching is a must for this role as it's important for every team member to understand the "why” and be able to see the bigger picture, strategy, and vision. The Operations Leader role requires strong communication skills as this position will not only provide work direction to the team, but also provides shift hand-offs with other Operation Leaders, status/commits to Customers, Program Managers, Product Center Leaders, and more. Interfaces with the appropriate organization within Operations to ensure any changes which will impact assigned tasks have been appropriately communicated and addressed. Skills Required | (In addition to the items listed above, the Essential Functions are: 1. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in Section II above. 2. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; 3. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, and coordinating with company personnel, customers and suppliers; 4. Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents; 5. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; 6. Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement manufacturing plans that support adherence to time requirements and schedule. |
Skills Preferred | Previous experience supervising hourly employees. Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor and processes. |
Experience Required | Minimum of 4 years of related work experience in production/manufacturing/operations or similar environment. Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision. Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools. |
Experience Preferred | Managing high reliability electronic manufacturing teams Familiarity with Oracle, Autotime, Power BI tools Six-Sigma Certificate (Green or Black Belt) Lean Manufacturing Certificate |
Education Required | Associate degree or equivalent and at least 4 years of related experience; or a Bachelors degree in an appropriate business or technical field and four (4) years of related experience. |
Education Preferred | Bachelors degree or equivalent and at least 4 years of related experience; or a Master s degree in an appropriate business or technical field and four (4) years of related experience. |
