As a Shipyard Material Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in the shipbuilding process, responsible for managing the procurement of materials and equipment needed for ship construction and repair. Your knowledge of shipyard operations and expertise in procurement will contribute to the success of our shipbuilding projects.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for shipyard projects, considering cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Identify reliable suppliers and subcontractors for shipyard materials and equipment.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to project budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Monitor and track supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement, preferably in shipbuilding or maritime industry.
  • Familiarity with the Procurement of Shipyards material, welding machineries, Drilling tools, cranes, Pipes, Fittings, shiplift systems, etc. 
  • In-depth knowledge of shipyard operations and understanding of the materials and equipment used in ship construction and repair.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficient in procurement software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures is a plus.
