About the Finance Team

The finance team in EMURGO is responsible for both traditional finance functions such as accounting, audit, tax, budgeting, and reporting, and for navigating the complexities of blockchain technology. Their role includes managing cash flow, secure crypto assets, and staying abreast of emerging web3 trends. With a strong grasp of cryptocurrency and traditional accounting practices, the finance team collaborates closely with other departments to ensure the company's financial health in this fast-paced and innovative space.

Role Summary

Join our dynamic web3 finance team as an Accounts Assistant and play a key role supporting our financial operations. You'll gain valuable experience in traditional accounting while diving into the exciting world of web3 and blockchain technology.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Assisting senior staff with core accounting tasks like audit schedules, budget, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
2. Performing reconciliation for expenses, revaluation, inter-co transactions and other related financial activities.
3. Performing administrative tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, processing claims and filing paperwork etc
4. Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records.
5. Contributing to the month-end close process and maintain strong internal controls.
6. Supporting audit, tax, financial planning and analysis, helping develop financial models and track variances to keep us on track.
7. Ensuring timely and accurate quarterly and yearly tax submission for GST and Corporate tax.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail for accurate financial recordkeeping.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, ) and a willingness to learn new accounting-specific tools.
• A keen interest in the web3 space and a desire to learn about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
• Proactive and adaptable, with a can-do attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Diploma / Degree in Accountancy
• Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, in particular MS Excel.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience in finance/accounting is advantageous.
• Fresh graduates with prior internship experience are welcome to apply
