Maintenance Technician

We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician with a busy manufacturer in Harford County, MD. Qualified candidates must be available to work the third shift and be available to work overtime hours as needed.

SUMMARY
The successful candidate must have general industrial electrical and/or mechanical skills and experience which will be utilized to install, maintain and improve the equipment and facilities within our business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.
Understanding and Ownership of maintenance systems
Preventive Maintenance (PM's)
Understanding and support of the Work Order system
Maintenance Event Planning
Continuous Improvement of equipment
Defect identification
Identification of minor and major defects
Input of defects into WO system
Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul
Maintains equipment
Ability to make mechanical adjustments and repairs
Ability to make basic electrical repairs such as replacing a motor or sensor
Able to plan and perform major Overhauls
Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns
Able to diagnose equipment failures
Able to determine root cause of failures and implement corrective action
Technical knowledge
Understands Processes within the business
Understanding and application of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and power transmission principles and practices
Fabrication of components and devices using manual machine shop equipment
Other
Effective communication with internal and external customers
On call maintenance responder


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required Technical school a plus.
Must have 5-7 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in technical disciplines of Electrical or mechanical production machinery maintenance. Fabrication, electronics or facility maintenance skills a plus.
