Job Description – BEAR Logistics Specialist - Power Production
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and verify effective solutions to identified equipment/material deficiencies on new systems being evaluated.
- Provide technical support and administrative assistance in the review and assessment of BEAR Base technical support requirements included in the operation and support plans, programming plans, acquisition plans, test and evaluation plans and design document/data, provisioning documents, etc.
- Prepare for meetings and presentations to include data gathering, evaluation and the preparation of background papers, staff studies, and or presentation materials intended to recommend a course of action/strategy or report status/progress.
- Write background papers, staff summaries, presentation materials, etc. related to the technical design, and operation of Power Production Systems.
Qualifications:
- Must have high-school diploma or above with technical training aligned with position requirements.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience and job knowledge is required with BEAR Base Systems and 15 years of DoD experience.
- Must possess an extensive and practical knowledge of BEAR Base equipment/system characteristics and properties in order to provide specialized information about equipment together with related advice to those who design, test, produce, procure, supply, operate, repair or dispose of equipment.
- Must possess knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of specific systems and skills in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments.
- Must possess skills in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data associated with their equipment.
- Must have skills in identifying and analyzing complex technical and requirement problems and developing innovative solutions.
- Must be able to plan, organize, and reprioritize work when facing changing deadlines and must be able to effectively write and author reports based on assessments and evaluations.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all aspects of the Power production field to include installing, removing, operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical power generating and control systems, aircraft arresting systems, and associated equipment to include but not limited to MEP 805/806, AMMPS 1060/1070, BEAR Power Unit, Interim BEAR Power Unit, Mobile Aircraft Arresting System, MRES and multiple load banks.
- Extensive knowledge of the following is mandatory: principles of electronics and electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization; types, capacity, and purpose of high and low voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and distribution; interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical publications; techniques of operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, generators, generating plants, distribution panels, and accessory equipment; repair and maintenance of aircraft arresting systems; use and purpose of test equipment; safety rules and practices; environmental policies; principles of management; and operation and repair of electrical power production systems.
Additional information:
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite of Tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must Possess excellent communications skills
