Corp-Corp or 3rd Parties: YesResponsible for translating business requirements into design artifacts that when implemented, produce software that meets business objectives. This includes developing high-level designs, functional requirement specifications, supplementary specifications, source-to-target mappings and other deliverables related to the project(s) assigned.
Collaborate with business partners and Plans to clarify business requirements and functional requirement specifications. Conduct design review sessions with BCBSA Plans, Application Development, Product Verification and Performance Engineering teams to refine designs. Provide both order-of-magnitude and detailed estimates for software development activities and artifacts. Resolve test/production tickets and provide post-implementation support. Experience in Client Systems and processes required.

Required Skills for Software Design Analyst III:
- Minimum of 10+ years of IT work experience focused in software design. A minimum of eight years of ITS and Blue2 experience required.
- Resource must adhere to BCBSA development guidelines and process.
- Effective at analyzing business requirements and current system behavior and collaborating to create system design specification documents including functional specifications, system use cases, mock-ups, and design models.
- Minimum of 10+ years of Client claims processing experience required. Thorough knowledge of SF/DF/adjustment processing required, with RF/CBF experience a plus.
- RDBMS Database experience (one or more of the following: DB2, Oracle, SQL/Server or comparable) including SQL query and Data Analysis.
- Experience with creating UI mockups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required along with strong presentation skills.
- Experience designing mainframe (COBOL/CICS) and Java systems.
- Demonstrated experience working within a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience within a customer focused environment.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, adhere to schedules, and coordinate technical teams.
- Certifications in AHIP (PAHM and FAHM) or equivalent
- Experience using BALSAMIQ, Microsoft office (including Project/Visio), SharePoint, Rational Tool Set (ClearQuest, ClearCase)
- Experience with Source Control and Requirements Management.
