CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER – COMPOSITE RE/INSURANCE – BERMUDA – ONLY 10% TAX – HR307
About this opportunity
CFO appointment at a Class 4 reinsurance company, suited to a commercially orientated senior finance individual able to operate at Board level as right-hand person to the CEO. This position of Chief Financial Officer will be based in Bermuda and involve responsibility for taking a leadership role in the company’s Finance function.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Financial reporting and submissions of returns to the Bermuda Monetary Authority
- Review of new Re/Insurance deals and other material transactions
- Engagement with senior stakeholders in relation to external financial reporting under US GAAP
- Lead the relationship with the external auditors, managing the annual external audit and quarterly interim reviews
- Your direct reports will be minimal, freeing you up to support and partner with the CEO
- Play an integral part in the future growth of the business as a whole
- Risk, marketing and operational areas
What you’ll need
- You must have an ACA/CA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation
- At least 10+ years’ of experience working in the reinsurance sector with familiarity of Bermuda regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge base and effective research skills related to technical accounting and reporting issues, including proficiency with US GAAP
- Strong financial acumen with ability to interact with regulators on a regular basis
- Ability to lead and inspire other members of the team
- High degree of initiative, dependable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Interact effectively across different levels and functional areas of the company
- Able to communicate and express ideas both clearly and concisely
