TXI is seeking a highly experienced Principal Strategist to enhance our product strategy and management capabilities and provide expert guidance to our clients.

In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing the evolution of data products at TXI. With a successful previous track record of building and managing diverse digital products within a consultative environment, you will serve as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal teams. Your responsibilities will be twofold: delivering active client work and contributing to the growth of our client portfolio. You will work closely with active and prospective clients to define product strategy, create actionable roadmaps, execute these plans, and establish key success metrics. Additionally, you will provide support and mentorship to our teams, helping to shape and refine our approach to consulting at TXI.

Your ability to navigate between strategic vision and tactical execution will be key to your success in this role. You are an empathetic listener, an effective communicator, and a thoughtful problem-solver who is capable of inspiring teams and delivering outstanding results. You can expect to:

  • Lead client engagements to shape and ship incredible products for our clients.
  • Define product vision with our client stakeholders and executives; creating and actively managing multi-year roadmaps to meet that vision. 
  • Collaborate with clients and teams to articulate and prioritize product epics and stories
  • Work collaboratively on cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and delivery managers and nurture a positive team dynamic. Define, track, and analyze key metrics, and use the data to inform product decisions
  • Facilitate a variety of workshops, critical conversations, and alignment sessions in a remote-first work environment. 
  • Partner with TXI’s Demand team to internalize prospective client needs, goals, and constraints; scoping complex product engagements based on business and user value.
  • Serve as an experienced consultant; adeptly building lasting, influential relationships with executive-level clients that grow and expand over time.
  • Embrace the rapid, adaptive nature of product innovation work and be comfortable leading through ambiguity

Key experiences you should have:

  • Proven track record leading large, complex digital product efforts as a consultant to Enterprise organizations
  • A breadth of expertise in the Manufacturing space with a specific emphasis on Industry 4.0 technologies, processes, and digital products
  • Experience leveraging emerging technology to illuminate possible applications within client-side operations and illustrate bottom-line impact
  • Fluency using data to identify digital product opportunities and guide product direction
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with client executives and organizations

What your days will look like, what success looks like

Proper expectation setting has a big impact on your growth. Here is some of what you can expect in your first two years as Principal Strategist:

Within 1 month, you will
//Start the company onboarding process, learning more about our company’s culture, values, history, and commitments to our clients
//Gain an understanding of our integrated product innovation process, tooling, and frameworks
//Shadow client teams to learn from and about our integrated teams of delivery managers, designers, engineers, and product managers
//Learn more about the client experience, from sales to product discovery and delivery and their ongoing evolution
//Go deeper into the employee experience of working at TXI, meeting with key leaders across the company while building relationships with the broader team

Within 3 months, you will
//Complete your onboarding process with your onboarding cohort
//Lead your first product engagement
//Foster relationships with delivery managers, designers, and engineers on your teams as well as across the company
//Attend your first TXI Quarterly with the rest of the organization

Within 6 months, you will
//Build relationships with the entire leadership team, and receive your first semi-annual 360 feedback
//Push your team to do its best work yet. You’ll know the team well by this point and understand how to encourage them to perform at their best and achieve goals that the whole team and company can be incredibly proud of
//Advance the craft of product at TXI. You’ll share your knowledge with others, learn from them, and perhaps define an experiment or two so we can all learn together
//Learn new processes and tooling to support further growth while developing your skills

Within 1 year, you will
//Attend a company retreat to get to know all of your colleagues in person
//Potentially start with a second client or re-engage with your first client on a new product or phase of work, all while deepening your relationships

After 2 years, you will
//Look back proudly on the client-centered and organizational changes you’ve inspired or directed, as well as the impact on how we do business

What we offer

The salary range for this role is $190,800 - $225,000k  In addition to competitive compensation, we offer the following benefits, intended to take care of you (and the people you care about):

Location

We have a remote-first environment at TXI–with distributed team members in the US, Canada, and Europe who are working from home. We communicate and collaborate effectively in a remote environment with tools like Miro, Notion, Slack, and Zoom. We also prioritize virtual bonding and values such as inclusivity, autonomy, and trust while ensuring we take steps to foster positive interactions between employees. 

While we encourage asynchronous communication, we often work in pairs or collaboration sessions, so it is important to have some core hours of overlap with our clients and fellow team members. Once again, and due to the nature of the role, preferred candidates are based in or around the Chicagoland area. Regardless of where you are living and working, we will get together in person and as a company several times a year to help build connections and foster relationships within our team.
