The Role

A Lead Software Engineer in Test (Lead SET) holds a critical leadership position within the quality assurance and software development teams. This role combines advanced technical expertise in test automation and software development with strong leadership skills to guide a team of SETs and ensure high-quality software delivery which meets business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of SETs, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback;
• Assign tasks and manage the workload among team members to ensure efficient and effective testing efforts;
• Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality goals and requirements;
• Design, implement and maintain test automation frameworks for functional, REST API and UI testing;
• Ensure that automated tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline and continuously executed;
• Build and maintain tooling for test development;
• Manage the reporting procedure of the test execution results;
• Advocate for best practices in software development and implement changes to enhance testing processes.

Requirements

To be considered you should have:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Masters in Computer Science;
• 4+ years of experience in automating or scripting tests;
• Experience in test automation (UI/API) with Selenium and/or Appium, Maven and/or Gradle, Cucumber and Rest API testing frameworks;
• Previous experience in object-oriented programming (Java is preferred);
• Experience in CI process, version control, defect tracking and test management tools such as GIT, Jira etc;
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases with emphasis on MS SQL Server;
• Solid knowledge of basic principles of Software Quality Assurance;
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
