SharePoint Engineer

Are you an experienced SharePoint Administrator looking to support a Global Organization?  Do you have a deep understanding of SharePoint access management and governance tools?  Our Modern Workplace team is hiring a SharePoint Administrator to help us grow our Modern Workplace tools and enable enhanced collaboration and productivity capabilities for our company.

THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE OPPORTUNITY, but job seekers must currently reside in Costa Rica.

 About You:

• You have deep experience and a passion for SharePoint Online Ecosystem.
• You have experience working across an Enterprise IT Organization to administer, deliver and execute action plans for improvements across SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Teams, and other M365 services.

 About The Role:

• Individual will be a key contributor in administration and support of our M365 collaboration infrastructure. Focus areas include analyzing and improving SharePoint permission structures, optimizing sites according to Microsoft best practices, providing governance reports to management, and documenting are all expected.
• Responsible for providing the day-to-day support and management of M365 services. Reporting, monitoring, and ability to work independently required.  
• Responsible for capacity planning and continual assessments for process improvement to ensure that processes are well-documented, sustainable, and scalable.
• Work closely with help desk technicians for resolutions to escalated tickets and training on new features.
• Work closely with security operations to maintain proper security posture. Focus on security requirements when designing a solution.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting M365 services with focus on SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive administration.
• Exposure to Microsoft's AI offerings including Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Copilot Studio. 
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in order to deliver based on deadlines.
• Experience serving as a liaison between engineering and helpdesk in order to aid in support as well as automating critical business processes.
• Strong hands-on experience migrating workloads end-to-end from on-premise to cloud or cloud to cloud, specifically Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Reporting on cloud licensing and resource utilization in order to preserve costs a plus.
• Solid understanding of deploying M365 apps: Exchange, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Teams infrastructure.
• Advanced Excel skills including the ability to produce graphs and tables, use spreadsheets efficiently, and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data. Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills.

 

Required Experience:

Education: Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

• Microsoft Certification not required but a plus

 

Work Experience:       

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 suite and its products, focusing on SharePoint and Teams.
• 2+ years of migrating SharePoint content libraries using tools such as Sharegate or equivalent.
• 2+ years of modernizing permissions around M365 content for least privilege access.
• 2+ years of automation around M365 processes.
• 2+ years migrating on-premise workloads to M365 and cleaning up stale data post migration.
