Software Engineering Manager ( Payment - Fintech )

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Checkout & Payment engineering team at Salla.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our checkout process, ensuring a smooth and secure buying experience for millions of online merchants and their customers.

Responsibilities:

● Lead and manage a high-performing team of software engineers focused on checkout and payment functionalities.

● Define the technical vision and roadmap for the Checkout & Payment product area, aligning it with broader company goals and customer needs.

● Break down product requirements into actionable engineering tasks and manage the development lifecycle.

● Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

● Hire, onboard, and develop top engineering talent, ensuring a strong technical foundation for the team.

● Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment across the development process.

● Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in e-commerce payments and security best practices.

● Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks associated with checkout and payment systems.

● Champion high-quality code, maintainable architecture, and robust testing practices.

● Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to checkout performance and identify areas for optimization.

Requirements

● Proven experience 5+ years as a software engineering manager or similar leadership role.

● In-depth understanding of e-commerce platforms, checkout flows, and payment processing systems.

● Strong technical background in software development principles, best practices, and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).

● Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

● Experience in building and scaling highly performant and reliable systems.

● A passion for building user-centric products that prioritize security and compliance.

● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

● Experience in building and managing cross-functional teams.

● Experience working in the e-commerce industry.

● Knowledge of PCI compliance standards.

● A strong understanding of fraud prevention techniques.

● Technical knowledge of PHP and Laravel frameworks is a plus.
