Position Overview:
Solid Power is seeking a contract On-Site Project Manager to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The On-Site Project Manager will act as the central resource and driving force for the line installation agreement with our customer. This is a critical position that will be essential to making Solid Power’s partnerships and product development a success. This position will be for a one-year contract and potentially renewable.
Job Duties:
- Manage external joint development partner relationships critical to achieving program objectives.
- Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management to ensure joint development program objectives are met.
- Manage and organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of joint development deliverables on schedule and within budget.
- Review product documentation and collateral to assure alignment between internal development and external messaging/strategy.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with joint development partners and all internal stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional team through the APQP development phases from inception to production for Solid Power EV Battery Cell.
- Support phase-gate reviews and ensure program milestones are achieved.
- Initiate and foster relationships with other groups.
- Able to travel for work (both long and short terms) within Korea.
- Manage everyday work at the site.
- Attend equipment preparation progress (FAT).
- Resolve/solve any issues at the site.
- Know and ensure safety measures as required at sites in Korea.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Demonstrated leadership skills to lead and manage subcontractors at the site.
- Customer facing experience as a Program Manager.
- Proven ability to lead and influence thinking/gain acceptance of others at all levels of an organization and in sensitive situations.
- Thorough knowledge of phase gate methodology.
- Strong communication skills and analytical skills.
- Rapid learner who thrives in a fast‐paced start‐up environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Korean language proficiency required. English language proficiency preferred.
- Must be able to be deployed at the site from Q2 2025.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering required.
- Master’s Degree or higher in a technical discipline or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in battery/process/manufacturing/engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years in battery related fields is a must (battery equipment makers experience is preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of site deployment experience.
Export Control Requirements:
This position requires access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls. Employment in this position is conditioned on the continued availability of government authorization to authorize release of such items, to the extent required, including without limitation an export license, or other documentation required to establish authorization to receive access to such items.
