Val Media is a Malaysian-based media company with a strong presence across Southeast Asia. We specialize in creating engaging and high-quality digital content that informs, entertains, and connects with audiences. As part of our expanding editorial operations, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Editor to oversee the production of articles for our platforms.

We are looking for a creative and meticulous Editor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end editorial process for articles, ensuring content is well-researched, accurate, and engaging. You will work closely with writers, content creators, and other team members to maintain the highest standards of quality and editorial integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, proofread, and refine articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in tone and style.
• Provide constructive feedback to writers to help improve their content quality and writing skills.
• Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm and develop fresh, engaging topics that align with our brand and audience interests.
• Ensure articles meet SEO best practices, including keyword optimization and meta descriptions.
• Verify facts and sources to ensure the credibility and reliability of all published content.
• Manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely delivery and publication of articles.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including designers and marketers, to enhance content with visuals and other multimedia elements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to keep our content competitive and relevant.

Requirements:

• Interest in consumer electronics, such as smartphones, gadgets, computing and related software/applications.
• Proven experience as an editor, preferably in digital media or content marketing.
• Exceptional command of English, with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with SEO principles and experience optimizing content for search engines.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards under tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with writers and other team members.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic knowledge of HTML is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in editing content related to consumer technology, lifestyle, or similar niches.
• Knowledge of additional Southeast Asian languages is a plus.
• A background in journalism, communications, or a related field.
