Service Systems Specialist I

Under minimal supervision, conducts maintenance, repair, and general servicing of building automated control systems.  Troubleshoots and resolves HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.  Delivers outstanding customer service.  This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the department.  An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary.

 Essential Functions:  An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

• Have working knowledge of HVAC and other facilities infrastructure equipment/systems.
• Perform BMS related hardware and software backups and updates.
• Interacts with customers, facilities, and outside vendors.
• Performs diagnostics as required on system-level controllers to end devices.
• Performs preventative/predictive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance.
• Provides emergency service and response to customer sites as dispatched.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair and/or replace control components and controls systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, HVAC and electrical issues as related to the BAS control operation.
• Support the organizational vision, mission, and objectives.
• Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met.
• Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.

Requirements

• Vocational School four-year program graduate or an Associate’s degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field. Degree may be offset with experience in servicing electronics and/or mechanical or similar field.
• Working knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems.
• Must be skilled in the use of PCs with MS Office Suite.
• Able to carry/setup and climb a ladder without assistance.
• Must have valid California state motor vehicle license with safe driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.

Pay Rate: $27-$32/hr. DOE.
