About the Job:

Working at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, the Scheduling Assistant will schedule requests for approved group tours/overviews, ceremonies, professional military education, and school groups then enter the requests into Momentus, the Museums scheduling tool, to insure all stakeholders will be aware of Museum events.

Location/Schedule:

Fully in-person: This is an in-person position located at 18900 Jefferson David Hwy, Triangle, VA 22172. This position is limited to 29 hours per week with a term not to exceed three years.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the Scheduling email, coordinating ceremonies and school group visits, work with multiple departments to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
  • Attend weekly calendar meetings providing updates, as necessary, to those in attendance.
  • Support visitor services and in-person education team as necessary.
  • Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested by the VS/In-Person Education Chiefs with programs as needed.

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • Needs to have experience working with a team and independently. Associates Degree encouraged but not required.

Technological Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS Office and Google Docs/email.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Be well organized and flexible.
  • Able to work in a fluid environment
  • Ability to follow instructions written and oral.
  • Willing to clarify instructions, if they not clear

Other:

  • Work schedule will be Sunday-Thursday up to 29 hours per week.
  • Multi-lingual is a bonus

Employment Conditions:

Environment and Physical Conditions:

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to be in one position for long periods of screen use, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear both in person and over devices. The employee interacts in close spaces and frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients. May be in situations which require conflict resolution. The position works in an office environment with artificial light and air.
