Route 1 print is the UK's largest online trade printer. The business is geared up to deliver some exceptional growth over the next 12 months, as such, we thought now’s the time to give someone the rare opportunity to jump on board and play a significant part in supporting us in achieving it.

We process around 10,000 jobs each week, consisting of over 11 million printed items that include anything from menus in your local restaurant, right the way through to curating stunning books for luxury brands. This is where you come in, we are now seeking an ambitious and sales hungry Business Development Manager, that can nurture new and existing business to maximise spend and increase their life time value. Don't worry, we aren't expecting you to go in cold, all the clients you will be contacting will have either ordered from us before, or have recently signed up. What’s more, you’ll also have the opportunity to wander around our 165,000 sq ft factory and actually see the products being produced, to bring you even closer to what our clients want, what else could you ask for?

Route 1 Print puts significant emphasis on deploying the latest tech, enabling us to stay one step ahead of our competition. We were the first company in the world to invest in nanographic printing technology with the purchase of a Landa S10 (Wait until you see it, it's like a spaceship) we decided to do one better and get 2, with the latest S11P just being installed.

Role Overview

  • Location: Office based 5 days a week, at our state-of-the-art HQ in Manvers, Rotherham
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
  • Salary: between £30,000 - £36,000 with OTE £65,000

The Role;

  • Managing and developing high value clients. Assessing Year on Year (YoY) spend and working with them to drive mutually beneficial growth.
  • Identify & mitigate declining client spend and work strategically to understand the ‘Why’ and put plans in place to turn this around.
  • Be the eyes and ears of the business, take feedback from your clients on the next big opportunity in the market, allowing us to constantly evolve our product proposition to our customers requirements.
  • Truly understand the competition, using our USP’s to increase both retention and acquisition.
  • Increase the average order value, average customer value and average frequency of order within your portfolio of clients.

The ideal candidate:

  • A sales hungry individual that knows exactly what’s needed to surpass all sales targets.
  • A strong willingness to learn, to never sit still and continually develop.
  • A strong team player, collaborating after all is the key to success.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills, with demonstrable experience in exceeding sales targets.
  • Not afraid to pick up that phone and see where the conversation takes you, after all, the more people you speak with the better chance you have of winning.
  • Understands how to effectively communicate with client queries via phone and email.
  • Hold significant pride in the quality of your work.

  • Previous print experience is highly desired!

The Company

Established in 2012, Bluetree Group is the UK’s largest online printer and exists to manufacture and sell high volume, premium products through investing in its highly skilled team as well as the latest technology.

In 2021, we acquired a luxury book printer, Kingsbury Press, branching out into the publishing industry and have aims of expanding into packaging solutions. In 2022 we were chosen as the printer for the Queen's Jubilee book.

Bluetree's combined office, production and training facilities are in Wath Upon Dearne, which is close to Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, and Doncaster. Our state-of-the-art 165,000 square foot facility is just a 15-minute drive from either the M1 or A1M and boasts ample free on-site parking, the facility is also located on a major bus route which is just a few minutes away from the train stations of Mexborough, Swinton and Wombwell.
