Hours: The main focus would be Saturday and Sunday 12am-8am, and Saturday and Sunday 4pm-12am. - We can work on the weekdays for the additional hours.
Job Description:
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented radiologic technologist to be responsible for operating imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes. The radiologic technologist's responsibilities include following physicians' orders regarding the area of the body to scan, positioning patients and equipment, and answering patients' questions. The radiologic technologist will use imaging equipment to capture images of tissues, bones, organs, and vessels, and may assist in the administration of radiation therapy treatments or radiopharmaceuticals.
To be a successful radiologic technologist, you should be compassionate and have good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with patients. You should have good technical and analytical skills.
Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities:
- Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.
- Administering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images.
- Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort.
- Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences, and monitoring the video display to adjust the density or contrast.
- Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Producing diagnostic images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records.
- Organizing the daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitoring radiographic supplies.
- Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
Radiologic Technologist Requirements:
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in radiology.
- A license to practice radiography.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion.
- Good mathematical abilities and technical skills.
- Good organizational, time management, and analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- The ability to lift heavy weights without assistance.
Education Requirement:
A valid license as a radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist or in radiation therapy issued by the NYSDOH and post primary certification in computed tomography issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. BLS preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1 year CT Technologist experience, Relevant Equipment.
