Summary
This position coordinates all Quality Management and Quality Processing, Raw Materials and Sensory Program activities among the departments at all Savencia Cheese USA locations and for co-manufacturers and packers. This position is based in New Holland, PA.
Essential Functions
• Leading Quality Manual writing that reflects the requirements of all applicable GFSI schemes and group requirements
• Interacting with other departments and locations for information flow and document control including the following areas:
• Regularly auditing HACCP, GMPs and all other PRPs, Traceability and Mock Recalls by QMS System Verification
• Working with R&D to create, update and maintain Product Specifications (both domestic and imported), APN and EPNs
• Scheduling meetings and organizing management review processes for QMS program and policies and where necessary, updating, revising or writing the policy and programs and submitting to QHSE Director for review and approval. Effective use of QMS program is required
• Responding to customers, drafting communication letters as requested.
• Managing the Product and Process Sensory Programs
• Working with the Plants to ensure they are following the Sensory Programs
• Managing the Quality Processing programs
• Training teams as needed
• Data trending, monthly reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), and quarterly reporting of SEQs, Leading monthly Quality report presentation.
• Leading Consumer panels as planned annually
• Acting as a backup for Quality department
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: This position requires up to 15-20% travel.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in food science or related field
• Strong English communication skills
• Experience working with quality management systems such as BRC or SQF
• Advanced knowledge in MS Office, LIMS, and computer savvy for new software programs
• Knowledge in statistical data analysis and ability to review data and correlate
• HACCP certification, BRC or SQF certification and expertise for at least 2 years
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Dairy quality and safety management
• Experience in consumer panels
• Sensory program experience
• Experience in writing reports, employee training and corporate presentations
• Working knowledge of FDA/USDA and related laws and regulations
Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in science
• Experience working in multi-plant operation
