Mobile Crisis Clinician
Seeking a part-time clinician to join our Rapid Response/Mobile Crisis Response Team to assist individuals and families experiencing a mental health crisis!
The position is Wednesdays 7:30am to 8pm and additional hours throughout the week.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide 24-hour crisis intervention and stabilization in the community, to prevent or reduce potential suicide, serious debilitation and decrease the need for long-term hospitalization.
2. Provide phone, in-person or telehealth crisis intervention, assessment, and stabilization services during agency open hours and/or after-hours. This may include short term crisis counseling and case management.
3. Assess client crisis state/immediate needs of youth, adult and geriatric populations: level of urgency and selecting mode of intervention in relation to suicide risk, violence potential, current level of coping, mental status, support system, need for medication, crisis housing, brief hospitalization, IEA or referral for outpatient treatment.
4. Formulate and initiate plan of action independently and/or in consultation with the client, psychiatrist, case manager, various other staff as appropriate.
5. Provide emergency consultations/information and evaluation to various other community agencies and organizations: police, correctional system, foster homes, homeless shelters, etc. This may include out of catchment area interactions as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s Degree in clinically related mental health discipline with experience in clinical diagnosis and therapeutic intervention in the community.
Ability to form rapid rapport and interact with broad range of clients, including severe and chronic populations.
Ability to interface with various community agencies/organizations and multidisciplinary staff.
Recommended:
CPR and First Aid Training, 40-hour crisis response training that includes concepts and topics in accordance with the National Guidelines for Crisis Care Best Practice Toolkit, Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale.
