Description:

Responsibilities:

Work with project teams and stakeholders to develop technical design specifications based on functional requirements and solutions to meet business requirements relative to the financial services industry; specifically focused on tax related initiatives.
Analyze, design, implement, test, maintain various applications; troubleshoot and resolve production application issues.
Ensure code quality through established of applications development best practices.
Develop and maintain a customer-focused relationship with business stakeholders and other IT areas by exhibiting a high level of collaboration, timely communication and responsiveness.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5-7 years of overall software development experience; including strong experience in object-oriented design and developing Java web-based applications.
Experience architecting or developing a solution utilizing Hadoop.
Must have some experience developing with Big Data technologies.
Experience with most of the following: Apache Hive, HiveServer2, MapReduce, Apache Knox, Apache Ranger, Ambari, Hue, Presto; developing RESTful services; SQL, JDBC, ODBC; Mongo DB, MySQL, and Open LDAP.
Experience working in SCRUM methodology; including experience with JIRA and Confluence.
Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure – (i.e. Amazon AWS).

Excellent verbal, written, relationship building, and client-facing communications skills; must be able to clearly communicate across a cross functional team – with development, end users, project managers, and analysts.
Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to take concepts and turn them into technical solutions that solve business problems.
Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and work ethic.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Financial services industry experience, specifically in accounting and/or tax is a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related equivalent experience.
