Location: This is a remote role. The Executive Director must be based in the United States and eligible to work in the U.S. TFI US is not able to provide work visa sponsorship at this time.
Travel: Occasional travel is required for board and donor meetings.
Salary: $140,000 - $155,000 with comprehensive benefits and generous PTO
About Teach For India, U.S.
Teach For India U.S. (TFI US) plays a crucial role in extending Teach For India's mission to address educational inequity in India. Since 2017, TFI US has mobilized intellectual, human, and financial resources to support impactful initiatives of Teach For India. The Executive Director (ED) will lead essential fundraising efforts, developing strategies to secure major donations, grants, and partnerships critical to advancing TFI US's mission.
TFI US aims to raise $1.9 million by December 2024, with a long-term goal of contributing over 30% to Teach For India's annual budget. The ED will focus on cultivating strategic relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors, engaging the Indian diaspora and other supporters through various events.
A pivotal focus for TFI US in the future will be the recruitment and training of exceptional individuals to serve as full-time teachers in low-income schools across India through the Teach For India Fellowship. This program annually places over 1,000 Fellows in under-resourced schools, impacting approximately 33,000 students in eight cities. Additionally, the ED will support an active alumni network of former Fellows in the U.S., fostering their professional development and collaboration to sustain long-term impact and drive systemic change in India's education landscape.
The Role
Teach For India U.S. (TFI US) is looking for an inspiring, entrepreneurial, and forward-thinking Executive Director with a growth mindset to spearhead its initiatives in the United States. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing thorough fundraising strategies, fostering key partnerships, offering strategic leadership, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining compliance. This position requires close collaboration with an exceptionally engaged Board of Directors and TFI India to align with and achieve the organization’s mission and objectives. Additionally, the ED will be supported by an India-based TFI US team to support fundraising and operational activities in the U.S.
