A globally recognized Contract Research Organization (CRO) with GEP and GLP certification, specializing in efficacy testing of products against agricultural pests and diseases, as well as urban pests. Their mission is to deliver high-quality research services for product registration, R&D, and marketing, adhering to the most stringent international guidelines.

Position: Crop & Biocide Testing Project Manager

They are looking for a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to join their team in Cornellà del Terri, Girona. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and executing field and laboratory tests, ensuring the highest scientific standards and compliance with international regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct tests in both field and laboratory settings according to international guidelines (OECD, EPPO, BPR, and others).
  • Implement tests initially in their facilities, with potential to scale to real-world situations in crop fields or pest-infested premises.
  • Work independently and proactively in test design and implementation.
  • Ensure the scientific integrity, timely delivery, and financial success of contracted studies.
  • Supervise and mentor team members according to their respective roles in various study types.
  • Communicate effectively with international clients and subcontractors.
  • Perform general administrative and laboratory tasks in compliance with GEP/GLP standards and Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) required; MSc or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, or Agronomy preferred.
  • Knowledge of the biology and breeding of arthropods and molluscs is advantageous.
  • Phytosanitary and/or biocide applicator certification is desirable.
  • Understanding of the agricultural and livestock sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Highly organized and flexible with work assignments and schedules.
  • Specific experience in efficacy testing is not mandatory but highly valued; experience in project management and field trials is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in scientific English is required.
  • Willingness to travel to test fields across Spain and attend meetings in various locations.
